The Spring Staple: A White T-Shirt
Spring is here and if you're like me, you are devising ways to freshen up your wardrobe to usher in the new season. This year I've decided to go back to basics and capitalize on something so simple: the white t-shirt. You all know my obsession with the crisp white button down shirt, so this should not come as a surprise.
Due to my fear of being the curvy girl in white, I have balked at the opportunity in the past to litter my closet with this wardrobe staple. But this year I'm going for it. I'm even willing to throw in neutral shades of t-shirts as well, but it's comfort and versatility that are speaking to me this year. Below are some ideas that I've tried (or want to try) that work well for me.
What I love most about the blazer/jeans combo with the white shirt is that you can dress it up or down and it lends itself to a host of colorful accessory options!
This look is perfect for running quick errands or for lounging around the house. Pair the white tee with pants and an oversized sweater or jacket for an instantly comfortable vibe!
I love everything about this wonderful take on the classic white tee. I love the all-white look (hello, summer!), the unusual hemline of the shirt, and of course that blue ombre feature!
I haven't gotten brave enough to wear a cropped white tee OR a fitted pencil skirt, but I'm loving this look with the black skirt. It's easily converted from day to night and it provides a classic silhouette.
Who doesn't love the casual school-girl look? Neutral Blazer? Check. White tee? Check. Jeans? Check. Effortlessly beautiful.
I love a high/low hemline, so when I saw this, I swooned! This boho-chic look is not hard to pull together - grab an oversized white tee with an interesting hemline, some oversized boyfriend jeans, attention-grabbing pumps and jewelry and you're ready to go! This look is great for date night or a concert.
WERK!!!! Who says curves aren't sexy? There is so much YES in this photo. Girls with a more ample bust should not shy away from white or from a more fitted shirt. I like the confidence this woman exudes and I like the different take on a classic menswear look.
