Monday Obsessions: Murder and Other Things....
What did you do this past weekend? We spent a fantastic Saturday afternoon with our parents and family friends and had a wonderful worship celebration on Sunday. An annual tradition in my family is the presentation of the Easter basket. I've gotten an Easter basket from my mother each year of my life (some better than others). During my teenage years, she would fill the basket with "practical items" like feminine products and socks (boring), but she has returned to her candy-bearing roots and filled this year's basket up with some real goodies, none of which are on my meal plan...sadness. Below is a pic of the bunny ears she included in this year's basket that I am obsessed with and don't plan on taking off anytime soon...
Other than these bunny ears, I'm obsessed with a new book by Jane Corry - "My Husband's Wife" which is a compelling thriller about a young newlywed attorney in London who finds herself in a strange position somewhere between her client who was convicted for murder and her husband whose lies would seem worse if it weren't for her own...it's a page turner for sure.
I'm also obsessed with the whole concept of the vacation that was a real life dream sequence. Imagine your dream vacation and then picture Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Bruce Springsteen, and Tom Hanks on a yacht off the coast of Tahiti. Best vacation ever? Definitely. The vacation crew that I've dreamed of? Yep (except I'd sub Springsteen for Bon Jovi). I mean, seriously? Can you imagine the pre-dinner drink convo among these folks? Let me just be a fly on the wall, please...
