Five Friday Funnies
We made it, people! It's Friday. GOOD Friday...and boy, is it a good Friday! I had a great week in sunny Miami! Something funny that happened in Miami? While waiting for Uber Eats and in the middle of my second mojito of the evening, I became a little agitated by how long it was taking for the food to arrive. I called Uber and gave them the business - respectful, but definitely sassier than usual. I may have rolled my neck.... Anyway, I made my complaints known and demanded some sort of refund (which I got). Within seconds of filing my complaint - "ding" - the phone displayed a notification on my husband's phone saying the courier was on his way. The funny thing about it - the driver's name was "Jesus" (and yes I know the proper pronunciation) - so just as I was in the middle of my black girl 'getting free stuff' moment, my husband hilariously deadpanned: "Welp, Jesus is on the way." That definitely was a sign from up above to get in line and stop being spicy!
We also lost a great comedian this week - Charlie Murphy. Eddie Murphy's youngest brother was definitely the more low key sensation of the two, but his comedic reach cannot be ignored. He is probably best known for his "True Hollywood" sketches on the Chappelle Show, the funniest of which is his story about playing basketball against Prince (which he swears is true). Here is the sketch in its entirety to enjoy, and five other hilarious things I've seen this week.
1. The United Airlines fiasco was horrible, but the internet clapped back in a hilarious way!
2. I've always hated thong panties. Apparently I'm not alone.
3. I don't hold grudges....I think...
4. Greeting cards for couples that don't have time for emotions....
5. State Department press releases from the master....
Have a hilarious weekend!
