December Daily 2016
It all started with YouTube…and wine…
On a random evening in October, I found myself on the couch, sipping, and researching random things on the internet. I can’t remember how I found it, but I came across a page dedicated to Project Life®. The creator, Becky Higgins, is an expert memory-keeper (that’s the new age term for scrapbooker) and encourages folks to “cultivate a good like and record it.” So that’s what I have become obsessed with. In short, Project Life® is a memory keeping tool that takes the stress out of scrapbooking and makes it more accessible. Using page protectors individually designed to fit photos, journal cards, and filler pages, the Project Life® solution is really a game changer.
I convinced myself during glass number 2 of wine that I needed this solution to arrange all of my wedding memorabilia that had been collecting dust since 2015. So I purchased an album, a core kit (journal cards and filler cards) and page protectors and I set out on this new adventure. The project came out beautifully and it was less stress than I had to give, so that’s a win!
One obsession usually turns into another, and on a separate wine-infused evening on the couch, I came across Ms. Ali Edwards – memory-keeping maven. Ali is all about capturing “everyday life with photos and words and creating memory keeping projects from those moments.” One of her projects is December Daily® which is a memory keeping album project documenting the 25 days leading up to Christmas. You commit to writing one story per day and documenting it. I’ve chosen to use the ProjectLifeApp® (another game changer) to complete this project and it has really helped me remain present and in the spirit of the holiday.
This is my Day 1 production which literally took me 10 minutes to complete. Not only does this project help me to focus on one goal during this season, but it also forces me to write daily (more on that in a separate section of this website). Here’s to the season and to new projects!
