Bravo, Time Magazine!
I didn't see this one coming but I'm pleasantly surprised. In these times, I am inspired by media outlets and individuals and companies that aren't afraid to make a statement, especially when it's on a topic that makes others uncomfortable or polarizes a large group of people (looking at you, Sports Illustrated).
In making the "Silence Breakers" the 2017 Time Person of the Year, Time Magazine essentially says "we see you; we hear you; we acknowledge you" to those who have been invisible, muted, or dismissed by society but chose to speak up anyway. Even if you can't get with the message of these women, you can't deny that what we are all experiencing right now is in fact a movement. So cheers to those women who aren't afraid to open their mouths and speak the truth of so many who can't. And cheers to Time Magazine for acknowledging the significance of that.
